Well, we survived! I knew Lucy was going to be okay but I wasn't so sure about me! This morning I took Lucy to Little Village Academy for her first day. We decided to have her go the first few days from 8:00-12:00 to get adjusted slowly.
This morning Denny and I were up at 6:45 am showering, getting ready, packing the car, and getting Lucy ready. We were both out of the house by 7:40(10 minutes later than I had hoped) and heading to school. I stayed with Lucy for 30 minutes, helping her adjust to the new setting and babies. She happily played with the new toys and a little boy, Peyton, came over and cuddled right up next to her! She wasn't so sure about this but went on playing with her toy! HA!
As I walked out, my eyes welled up with tears, but luckily in just 2 minutes I was pulling into my school parking lot. I got a lot accomplished this morning to prepare for the start of school, but obviously worried about Lucy the entire time I was away from her. I even called at 10:15, and they reported that she had finished her first bottle and was napping! Success....I was feeling better and could get some things done before leaving to pick er up at noon!
All in all, it was a great first day. Tomorrow brings day 2..let's hope all goes well again.

Great job! Honestly, I know it does not seem like it as it is new to you, but THIS IS THE EASY part of daycare as she is content still as long as she has someone to hold her, feed her, and change her. After getting over the initial transition of leaving the baby, the harder part is when they KNOW you are leaving. We still go through this with Jackson from time to time but the worst was probably 12-18 months with the attachment issues and there were MANY days when I cried myself to work but we survived and I know you guys will too!! Now that he is two, he is so advanced with socialization and language, people comment all the time and it is from the daycare so there are some really good parts about it to come for you!!
Love the new blog format. Love that you both survived the painful first day. It's downhill from here!
Oh those pictures on the top of the blog...reminds me of Cloverlane. haha. It doesn't matter how you leave your child behind as you go off to work, you leave a piece of your heart. Lucy will be proud that her mommy is the best teacher in Granville and that will help her be a wonderful woman someday. In the meantime, one day at a time, organize every evening and take time each afternoon to get to know Lucy's day care staff. Good luck to you in your new school year. xo
Hi Momma...it's Friday and I think Luce goes all day today. You're both in my thoughts and prayers! She'll be fine! TGIF, eh? We can now commiserate together...being working Moms isn't all it's cracked up to be! Booo!
