One Year Photoshoot!

Our friend, and wonderful photographer, Shannon Sano took Lucy's one year portraits at Franklin Park Conservatory. It was a cold, wet February day but once inside you would have never known. Lucy LOVED exploring all the rooms and she kept Shannon very busy. It became a chasing game! Shannon captured just who Lucy is right now and I will cherish these photos FOREVER!

Lucy's Birthday Party!

What a special day we had for our Lucy!



We started the morning opening new toys!

What's a better way to start your birthday?!?

While Lucy took her morning nap, Denny and I transformed our house into Birthday Party Central!


I had a blast planning an Olivia themed birthday party for Lucy! This is one of the first books Lucy has truly enjoyed reading and requests to read often. So I decided Olivia would be the perfect theme for her 1st Birthday! I had fun including Olivia in every detail!

Guests started to arrive just as Lucy awoke from her nap. Mimi and Papa were the first to arrive!


"Aunt" Laura and "Uncle" Canon joined us too!

The whole Ehrmin gang joined us as well, included sweet cousin, Grace!


The Burrow gang didn't want to miss the fun either!


Especially cousin, Ellie! She LOVES Lucy so much! (Her new toys aren't bad either ;))


Everyone was so generous with Lucy and our family room was filled with gifts!


Lucy even helped me dig into the big pile of presents!


But only for a minute because she spotted her PINK CHAIR!

We are blessed to have had such a special year with Lucy! We are one lucky family.

Happy Birthday, Lucy Josephine!

[Here is our sweet, little baby Lucy at just one week old.]

In just one year, our sweet-smelling, wrinkly-skinned, squeaky newborn is a walking, talking, climbing, smiling and cheerful toddler. Lucy, we couldn't love you anymore and can't wait to celebrate many, many more birthdays with you!

Snow Day #2!

HOORAY!

Mom and Dad are both home with me again today!

We are so enjoying all this time together as a family. What a blessing this cold, nasty winter weather has been for us! We've just hunkered down in our house and felt lucky to have heat and power. There are currently over 50,000 Columbus residents without power right now! YIKES!

We've read LOTS of books...


Lucy's favorite thing to do is pick them out...


"I wonder if I could read this book all by myself?"


We've eaten lots of good, home-cooked meals! Right now homemade chicken noodle soup is in the crock pot and homemade rolls are rising on the counter for dinner! Lucy's chubby cheeks are proof of all that good food :)


We've done lots of laundry..."Hey Mom, have you checked my laundry hamper yet?"


Lucy continues to take really good naps. [This has just fallen right into place since she has started at Megan's house. She is now consistently taking a 1-2 hour morning nap and a 2-3 hour afternoon nap! AMEN!]

I snapped these pictures minutes after she woke up from a 3 hour nap session...



And most of all we've enjoyed looking out our windows to watch all the snow fall from the sky from the warmth of our house.

Lucy you've brought a whole new level of happiness to Snow Days! I LOVED them before but now I love them even more because I get to spend them with YOU!

Snow Day...

...well we should really call it an "Ice Day!"


5:30 this morning I got the automated call from our superintendant notifying us that Granville Schools were CLOSED today! Denny kindly rolled his eyes at me and went right back to bed. I laid in bed awake, my heart racing with excitement, thinking about what Lucy and I could do today together! Then about an hour later, Denny learned that Nationwide also had a 2-hour delay! After Lucy slept in(yay!), we enjoyed pancakes together while we had a rare, slow-paced weekday morning together.


We have about 2 inches of snow on the ground and all the trees are covered in ice! It is beautiful outside!


No grilling today.


Stepping on the patio to take this picture was NOT a good idea...

...back inside to spend the day with my baby!
