TGIF!!!

Lucy just wants to say TGIF to everyone today! We hope you all have a great day and wonderful weekend!

She slept like a champ last night….9:30pm-4:30am and 4:30am-7:00am! Then after her morning smiles and her happiest time of the day she napped again from 8:00am-8:45am!

"Mom, are you taking pictures of me again?"Photobucket

"Maybe I should just smile and get this over with?!?"Photobucket

"Okay Mom, Here ya go….CHEESE!"Photobucket

What's the verdict on those eyes? Do you think they will stay blue? I don't notice them changing color at all yet?!?

Pantry Make-Over!

Now that Lucy is two months old she has gotten into a nice little daily routine. Waking up around 7:00-8:00 and then eat, play, sleep cycle for the day. Her naps have also transformed into 3 or 4 longer naps rather than short cat naps all day long! Due to these changes I've had a chance to get a few things done around the house!

Project #1:
Organize laundry room shelf! (Thanks to Mimi for the idea and the great blue baskets) It is now easy to find cleaning products, etc when needed!

Project #2:
Tackle the nasty, unorganized pantry cupboard! First step, empty all the stuff out!

Yes, that was ALL in the bottom of the pantry…

After vacuuming and mopping (yuck)...it was time to reorganize and visit the Container Store for help! (I love that store!)

Thank you to the Ehrmin's for the giftcards to the Container Store for my birthday. I had a blast spending them!

Project #3:
I should attempt the linen closet next…..but…..really….I don't know where to begin?!?!?

How Does She Compare?

Birth Weight:
Lucy 6 lbs. 2 oz.
Frances 5lbs. 9oz.
Denny 7 lbs. 14 oz.

1 month:
Lucy 8lbs. 14oz.
Frances 7 lbs. 9 oz.
Denny 9 lbs. 7 oz.

2 months:
Lucy 10 lbs. 5 oz.
Frances 9 lbs. 6 oz.
Denny 13 lbs. 8 oz.

Lucy's next visit to the doctor will be at 4 months. I weighed 10 lbs. 14 oz. at 4 months and Denny weighed 17 lbs. and 3 oz. at 4 months. Wow...that is a difference of almost 7 lbs! I think I was a teeny, tiny baby and Denny was a little chunker!

You Know It's Going To Be Bad….

…when you use 6 wipes during one diaper change! And 2 of them were used before you even took the diaper off! YIKES!

Don't worry…Lucy smiled and cooed the whole time :)

2 Month Check Up!

This morning Denny and I took Lucy to her 2 month well check with Dr. Kern! She is a healthy growing girl!

weight = 10 lbs. and 5 oz. (50%)
length = 21 in. (10%)
head = 15 1/4 in. (50%)

Lucy smiled and cooed for Dr. Kern BEFORE the shots began…then she screamed and screamed while he gave her 3 shots in her thighs. She got #1. Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis, #2. Haemophilus Influenza type b #3. Polio and #4. Hepatitis B. I would have done anything to take the pain away for her. I would have taken the all shots for her if I could have! She also got one liquid vaccine in her mouth. That didn't seem to bother her at all. After a few minutes she was no longer crying and fell asleep in my arms. She slept the entire car ride home and is still sleeping now in her car seat! Hopefully she will have a sleeping day and not be in too much pain :(

A Saturday in German Village

Yesterday was a gorgeous day in Columbus so we decided to spend the afternoon in German Village. We went to Katzinger's Deli for lunch…yummm…and then Schmidt's Fudge Haus for dessert :)
Photobucket

Lucy loved riding around in her stroller on all of the brick roads, as well as riding in the Baby Bjorn! She now prefers to face out so she can see whats going on! She was an angel and enjoyed spending the entire afternoon out and about! She had such a good day in German Village that we decided to hit up Container Store on our way home. I'm currently in the process of reorganizing our pantry! (post to come soon!)

Lucy's First trip to the Columbus Museum of Art!

On Friday Lucy and I met my class at the CMA during their field trip! The Columbus Museum of Art is currently hosting "Chihuly Illuminated!" All of the blown glass was absolutely beautiful!

Lucy was a good girl and my students LOVED seeing her again!

Lucy's First Easter!

Our family had a wonderful Easter with Lucy! We attended 10:30 Easter Mass at St. Matthew's and then came home to prepare to host our first Easter Dinner! Mimi, Papa, Uncle Jay, and Gigi drove to Columbus to spend Easter with us! We had a wonderful meal and enjoy spending the day together. The weather was just perfect, sunny and 70, so we all went on a walk together after dinner! I enjoyed setting the table with my china, crystal, and silver flatware! I also had fun making an Easter centerpiece!

Our house was decked out for the holiday!

This was also Lucy's second time going to church! She attended Palm Sunday Mass at St.Rose and then Easter Mass….at both services she was an ANGEL! Everyone "ohhhed" and "awwwed" about how teeny, tiny and cute she was in her Easter dress!

A big THANK YOU to Elisabeth, Jackson, Mimi and Papa, Grandma and Grandpa, Great-Grandparent O'Bryants, and Gigi for Lucy's Easter gifts! She loved them all and thinks you are all pretty generous :)

Lucy also met the Easter Bunny earlier in the week at Easton! I think she will be very happy that she slept through the ENTIRE experience :) Maybe next year we will get a smile…or maybe some tears!PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

How Much?

We're off to breastfeeding group this morning and I'm eager to weigh Lucy! Our 2 month doctor's appt. is not until next week so we'll get a sneak peak at her weight today. I wonder how much this little 8 week old weighs now?

……….

Lucy weighed 10 lbs. and 5 oz. without anything on! She is a still a petite little baby but growing quickly!

Sleep has really, really, really improved since she turned 8 weeks old! It was almost like 8 weeks was the magic number to start sleeping longer at night! Also her fussy hours of 8:00-11:00 pm have greatly improved (knock on wood please!). Her new routine is napping on Mommy or Daddy until around 10:00ish and then diaper change, being swaddled, and nursed to sleep. Then I lay her in the co-sleeper and she'll sleep up to 6 hours!!! I'll nurse her when she wakes (4:00-6:00am) and then she'll go back to sleep until a big poopy wakes her up around 7:00am! Daddy kindly changes her and brings her back to bed…at this time she'll either sleep for another hour or so…or she'll be WIDE AWAKE smiling and cooing. I'll take either after sleeping through most of the night :) I can still vividly remember nursing her every 2 hours throughout the entire night and rocking her back to sleep after every feeding….wow, how things have changed :)
