14 weeks!

I've hit the 14 week mark and am feeling so much better! I shared the news at school yesterday and that was a big relief. My principal was very kind and excited and all my teacher friends were thrilled! I'll be in and out of the classroom during the next week as I get ready for the first day of school....AUGUST 24th! I can't believe summer is over, although I'm anxious to start another school year! Yesterday I organized all my new pens, pencils, markers, and school supplies and Laura and I laughed, "This is exactly why we love teaching!" :)

Here's a developmental update on our little baby:
"This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body."

Every good teacher loves school supplies...It should be the first question of any teacher interview! Check out DVD that goes along with Wong's First Days of School...a teacher describes her "using" the book to be successful. I cried! Gather some teacher friends around a big screen and watch it.
Soon we will know if our lemon is a boy or a girl. I am glad that you feel better. xomomma

I love school supplies! I totally raided the target sale the other week (who doesn't need 2 more boxes of 24 count crayons for 27cents?). Any gender premonitions yet? :)

on the baby......we don't know that baby is a "he" yet do we...did I miss something big?? Why are descriptions always male-centered......this has always bothered me as an English major!! What fun with the school supplies...I love that stuff, we have a supply closet at work with post its, like a bazzilion kinds of pens, sticks its, note pads, etc., no markers or crayons but still, I love it, even just the SMELL of the supplies.........I'm a loser I know!!

No we do not know the gender. For some reason descriptions are written with "he." September 23rd is the gender ultrasound date!!!
