Christmas Morning!

Santa came to our house on December 20th this year!  It worked for a family and provided us a long, calm weekend to enjoy the magic of Christmas.  (We traveled to Perrysburg for Christmas Eve and Christmas another year, not sure if we always will, but it seemed to work again this year.)  Lucy and Eddie were so excited for Santa to come!

We baked cookies, wrote a note to Santa, and counted a carrot for each reindeer.  After reading books by the fire and squealing in excitement Lucy and Eddie finally went to bed!

We all awoke around 7:00 to see that SANTA HAD COME!

Lucy's favorite gifts this year --- Frozen Castle, Frozen Barbie dolls, new tutu, and Elsa costume!
Eddie's favorite gifts this year --- remote control car, legos, Matchbox race track, and magnetic building blocks!

We ended the fun with a scavenger hunt around the house to find the last gift.....A TRAMPOLINE in the basement!

I feel where you are at with the traveling home for Christmas...you are in a harder spot than us because rather than a trek across the country it is harder to say no because it is a few hours in the car but one day you will spend that first Christmas home and it is HEAVEN!! And...you can still get in the car Christmas later in the day and drive home and guess what, I bet the rest of the family will adjust to accommodate your visit and get together that night instead of Christmas eve!!
